Plot: Discovering covert and faulty intelligence causes a U.S. Army officer to go rogue as he hunts for Weapons of Mass Destruction in an unstable region. Matt Damon stars.
"Alice in Wonderland"
Plot: 19-year-old Alice returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen's reign of terror. Tim Burton directs and the always wonderful Johnny Depp stars.
Woahhhh!! Damn good movie! Tim Burton, you know your stuff. By that I mean, you know how to hire Johnnny Depp to kick ass in ALL your movies!!
"COP OUT"
Plot: A comedy about a veteran NYPD cop whose rare baseball card is stolen. Since it's his only hope to pay for his daughter's upcoming wedding, he recruits his partner to track down the thief, a memorabilia-obsessed gangster. Kevin Smith directs and Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan star!
Just so we're straight ... Tracy Morgan has never been funny and he never will be funny. COP OUT had some decent moments thanks to Kevin Smith's direction as well as the always cool Bruce Willis. I didn't hate it ... but, it's not the best buddy cop movie ever.
"Shutter Island"
Plot: Drama is set in 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island. Leonardo DiCaprio stars and Martin Scorsese directs!
WOW! This movie is inexplicable! Crazy ride. DiCaprio gives a strong performance. BUT, the STAR is Scorsese's direction. SLICK! When a director can make you interpret his movie in many different ways, that's success!!
"The Wolfman"
Plot: Upon his return to his ancestral homeland, an American man is bitten, and subsequently cursed by, a werewolf. Oscar winners Anthony Hopkins and Benicio Del Torro star.
What an awesome nap! I will give this film credit for "looking classic." But, I'm NOT going to lie, I was bored outta my mind. ALSO, I thought Anthony Hopkins was going to start having and "old friend for dinner" at any given moment.
"From Paris with Love"
Plot: In Paris, a young employee in the office of the US Ambassador hooks up with an American spy looking to stop a terrorist attack in the city. John Travolt and Jonathan Rhys Meyers star.
Let's get this straight ... John Travolta is COOL. PULP FICTION made him that way. Lots of cussing and dead bodies! I loved it! This movie is not going to change the world, but, I had a damn good time watching it!!
"Edge of Darkness"
Plot: As homicide detective Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) investigates the death of his activist daughter, he uncovers not only her secret life, but a corporate cover-up and government collusion that attracts an agent tasked with cleaning up the evidence.
This movie is actually BAD ASS. Great acting, good story, very fast-paced and smart!!
"Legion"
Plot: An out-of-the-way diner becomes the unlikely battleground for the survival of the human race. When faith is lost in humankind, a legion of angels bring on the Apocalypse. Humanity's only hope lies in a group of strangers trapped in a desert diner with the Archangel Michael.
POS!! Enough with the Apocalyptic CRAP!!
"Sherlock Holmes"
Plot: Detective Sherlock Holmes and his stalwart partner Watson engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England.
Excellent movie. Robert Downey Jr. is superb! Jude Law is a GREAT side-kick. The story is engaging, the effects are excellent. A nice ride! And, sequel material!!
"Avatar"
Plot: James Cameron directs this big budget film set in the future about a paraplegic war veteran is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na'vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.
WOW! I had a bad attitude going into this movie! Actually, it's quite GREAT! James Cameron has outdone himself. Not only is this film gorgeous, the story is compelling and the acting is great. It IS a tad long, but that is my only real complaint!
"Armored"
Plot: A newbie guard for an armored truck company is coerced by his veteran coworkers to steal a truck containing $42 million. But a wrinkle in their supposedly foolproof plan divides the group, leading to a potentially deadly resolution. Matt Dillon and Laurence Fisburne star!
Decent movie, but, I would only spend matinee $ on this one!!
"Ninja Assassin"
Plot: Raizo is one of the deadliest assassins in the world. Taken from the streets as a child, he was transformed into a trained killer by the Ozunu Clan, a secret society whose very existence is considered a myth. But haunted by the merciless execution of his friend by the Clan, Raizo breaks free from them...and vanishes. Now he waits, preparing to exact his revenge. In Berlin, Europol agent Mika Coretti has stumbled upon a money trail linking several political murders to an underground network of untraceable assassins from the Far East. Defying the orders of her superior, Ryan Maslow, Mika digs into top secret agency files to learn the truth behind the murders. Her investigation makes her a target, and the Ozunu Clan sends a team of killers, led by the lethal Takeshi, to silence her forever. Raizo saves Mika from her attackers, but he knows that the Clan will not rest until they are both eliminated. Now, entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse through the streets of Europe, Raizo and Mika must trust one another if they hope to survive and finally bring down the elusive Ozunu Clan.
Kicking and crap ... whatev!!!!
"The Twilight Saga: New Moon"
Plot: Bella Swan delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of, only to find herself in greater peril than ever before.
If you're a LOVER of this series, of course, you will love it. Actually, it's not a bad movie. A little too lovey dovey at times. The acting is extra decent. And, the special effects are GREAT!!
"2012"
Plot: A group of survivors led by John Cusack struggle to stay alive after a catastrophe, predicted by the Mayan calendar, brings the world to an end!
THIS IS A GIGANTIC PIECE OF CRAP!! Roland Emmerich, you succeeded in creating another NON masterpiece, just like "The Day After Tomorrow!" With previews the movie is about 3 hours, it is so looonnnggg and boring. The dialogue is ridiculous. I will forgive John Cusack for being in this movie, he must not have known it was going to SUCK so bad. The special effects weren't completely awful, but, I was SO disgusted with the movie itself. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS FILM!!!!
"Fourth Kind"
Plot: Milla Jovovich stars as a psychologist who discovers disturbing evidence of alien abductions in small town Alaska.
I really was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this film. I was creeped by the reality of this topic. And, Milla Jovovich is one of our best actresses, she is completely underrated!! I highly recommend THE FOURTH KIND!!
